Sunday, October 10: Welcoming Others as God Welcomes You
SCRIPTURE READING -Genesis 1:1-2:4a
This week begins our “Welcome All” unit/practice. The first unit of our yearlong “Follow Me” curriculum/worship calendar was a general introduction to the idea of being a “follower” of Jesus. Now we turn to specific practices Jesus lived and taught. The first is “Welcome All.” This Sunday we’re setting the stage for the inclusive and broad welcome of Jesus, by remembering the original story of God’s creation of the world: Genesis 1:1-2:4a. Jesus modeled the kind of loving connection that God makes with all things and all people in this origin story. Diversity is intended, needed and embraced. This comes from God. It is the foundation of our Christian community.
This Sunday, join Rev. Jan, Deacon Margaret Bradley, Judi Parman, Enrico Garzilli & the KCC choir, Michelle Girasole, and others for Sunday worship. Download the sermon “Created Together” here.
