Love For The World
Putting the Christian faith into practice requires caring for God’s good earth and all of God’s creatures. At Kingston Congregational we take this world wide responsibility seriously. One way we foster a world wide perspective is through educational programs about issues like the environment, immigration reform, the situation in the Middle East, the plight of Haiti, etc. We also act globally in many ways:
• Through hands on projects like the Women’s Fellowship team putting together baby, school, and hygiene kits to send to Church World Service for disaster relief.
• Through direct action such as when members have traveled to and assisted eastern European orphanages and Mexican and Haitian housing projects.
• Through various mission trips undertaken by adults and youth.
• Through donations for Church World Service, a Blanket Sunday offering, participation in the Heifer Project, and One Great Hour of Sharing.
These are just some of the many ways our members act to care for our world. Find out about ways you can get involved by contacting the Board of Missions & Social Justice and the Women’s Fellowship.
